Ted Fines Portfolios

96_n.jpgI was born in Toronto, Ontario and currently live in Lincoln (Lost Lake Woods Club) with my wife, Chris. I have been fascinated by photography all my life. From the simple beginnings of the Kodak Brownie to today’s advanced digital cameras, I have always realized that there are basic rules to becoming an ‘accomplished’ photographer. It’s the holy grail that we all strive for as photographers.

I have been fortunate to have mentored with many of today’s great midwestern photographers and been featured in several books (ConeyDetroit by Katherine Young/Joe Grimm-Spring 2012, Detroit-Through Our Eyes-Fall 2009 and Boneyards-Detroit Under Ground by Richard Bak-Summer 2010), magazines and newspapers. I have been featured in many of Detroit’s and northern Michigan’s art galleries including the Detroit Institute of Arts photography competition in 2008 called ‘Sacred Places’.

I have held digital photography workshops at the Eleanor & Edsel Ford Estate (Grosse Pointe Shores) and offered and taught many beginning through advanced classes for photography and photo-editing throughout Michigan

I was an original member of EXPOSURE.DETROIT, the Midwest's largest photography club and founding member of The Detroit League of Photographers. I am currently the Executive Director of Habitat for

Humanity Northeast Michigan.
